Episode Review: Season 7, Episode 11 - Bad Day at Castle Loch

  Air Date: February 23rd, 2004(US)
Written By: Jenny McDade
Narrated By: Michael Brandon
Produced By: Phil Fehrle
Directed By: David Mitton

Summary
One day Sir Topham Hatt called Donald and Douglas to the docks, they were told that Castle loch was reopening, and to take a load of banners, bunting, and bagpipes to the castle. Once Harvey was finished loading the flatbeds Percy came and asked Duglas where they were going. Doguas joked that Percy would be scared of the monster there, but Donald thought it was reel, and argued with him about it on the way there.

When they were all most there some trees were blocking the line and they stopped just in time. Then a landslide turned over the brakevan. Douglas' driver called for help, and Sir Topham Hatt said he would send help as soon as he could. Hours passed and it was now night time, then Harvey and the brakedown train came, and by morning the lines were clear.

Then Donald and Douglas hurried to the castle. Then the workers soon had the castle decorated and the opening day was a success.

                                                                      My Thoughts
Well this was another episode I haven't seen, and it was great. The night time part was good with the fog, but why did it take so long for Harvey to show up, and how would he have cleared the landslide with a brakedown train?

One day Toby was collecting a load of flower to take to the market, but Toby was so busy looking at the windmills sails that he forgot to look where he was going and he crashed the trucks in a platform and ruined all the flower. The miller was cross with Toby, and said if he couldn't sell the flower he would have to shut the windmill down.

That night there was a big storm, and Toby couldn't get to sleep because he was worried about the miller. Meanwhile Toby was worried about the windmill the windmill was struck by lighting and the wind turbines crashed to the ground.

The next morning Toby discovered that the windmill was destoried by the storm. The miller said that meant the end of his busness because he couldn't afford wood to make a new windmill. After down the line Toby saw that Sir Topham Hatt was cross because a tree had fallen on the line. Toby seggested that the miller could use it to build a new windmill.

Sir Topham Hatt said that was a great idea, so Toby took the tree to the miller and a new windmill was soon built. Now Toby is twice a busy taking flower to the market, and is proud that the miller named the windmill "Toby's Windmill".

Review
Well, somehow I never saw this episode, and it was good. It was odd that Toby crashed the flower, what was his driver doing, looking the other way?

Episode Review: Season 7, Episode 9 - The Spotless Record

 Air Date: February 19th, 2004(US)
Written By: Paul Larson
Directed By: David Mitton
Produced By: Phil Fehrle
Narrated By: Michael Brandon

Summary
A brand new tank engine had arrived on Sodor and rushed to the station to see Sir Topham Hatt. Sir Topham Hatt introduced Author to Thomas and Percy. Soon the three engine's were at work in the yard.

Author's first job was to push a train load of fruit to market, then the trucks started singing to Author, who thought it was rude. This gave Thomas a naughty idea, he told Author he must stop the trucks, but Thomas knew he never would.

After Author told the trucks they couldn't sing they were cross with Author, so the pulled him down the hill and he crashed in to the back of Ducks train. There was squashed fruit everywhere. Author was upset because his spotless record was ruined.

Thomas told Sir Topham Hatt what he had done, and he said it was fruitless for him to say anything else, then Harvey arrived and started to clear the mess. Once everything was cleared up Thomas took the loaded trucks away. That evening Author had a washed down, and Thomas said sorry to Author about the accident.

My Thoughts
This episode was, well, fruitless:) I thought it was a good episode with some funny joke's about fruit, but Percy is still asking dumb questions.

Wooden Railway Skiff and Mike Images Revealed

Today I found two images on the TTTE Wikia, and they are the new Thomas Wooden Railway Skiff and Mike. Skiff is the new tour boat from Sodor's Legend of the Treasure and Mike is an older character from the railway series. I'm not sure if he will be in the movie this fall or not.

One strange thing I noticed was that Mike's front wheels are red and the tender ones are black. Let me know in the comment's section if this is correct.

Episode Review: Season 7, Episode 8 - The Refreshment Lady's Stand

Air Date: February 18th, 2004
Written By: James Mason
Directed By: David Mitton
Produced By: Phil Fehrle
Written By: Michael Brandon

Summary
It was a hot summer day on the Island of Sodor, and the engines were busy taking loads full of slate from the quarry. Peter Sam complained that he was to thirsty to be useful. The next day Sir Topham Hatt told Peter Sam to find the refreshment lady a new place for her stand.

Peter Sam looked all over the narrow railway, but the refreshment lady couldn't decide where she wanted her stand. That night there was a big storm, and in the morning Sir Topham Hatt told Peter Sam to help clear the storm damage.

Then Peter Sam and Rusty found an old railway coach. Sir Topham Hatt had it repaired, and once it was finished Peter Sam showed it to the refreshment lady, and she liked it. Sir Topham Hat told Peter Sam to take the refreshment stand special, so Peter Sam took the refreshment lady to all her favourite place's.

My Thoughts
This was a great episode, but the narrator never said what the refreshment lady's name was. Another problem pointed out by The Thomas & Friends Review Station is that Henry had Gordon's face when he was at the station with Peter Sam.

Thomas & Friends 70th Anniversary Documentary Project

This year Hit Entertainment/Mattel are doing a contest to make a Thomas & Friends 70th Anniversary documentary. Hit Entertainment is providing the $60,000 to produce the film.

Both phases for entering are closed, and on the 9th of this month(September 2014,), the winners of the pitch faze will be announced and then we will know who is going to produce the film. Below is the dececription of each concept for the film, only one of them will be used. Each one won $500 from Hit.

# 1: Imagine: your ticket has been punched, and you're on your way to the magical Isle of Sodor. As you travel, you'll make whistle stops to see treasured artifacts and meet people who have made Thomas and Friends a touchstone of childhood for 70 years.

#2:  Documentaries are usually narrated by adults. Have a child narrate this one as Awrdy gives us insight into the humble bedtime beginnings of the series and makes us realize just how amazing it is that the series has travelled as far as it has.

#3: Documentary sets out to answer the question: "What Makes Thomas & Friends Special?" That question is answered by FANS of all ages & by Christopher Awdry. Discussed special/favorite moments from books & tv series shown w/archival footage, photos, etc.
#4: The 30 minute documentary follows the filmmaker as they travel the world by train to see how people from around the world are in some way connected through Thomas & Friends. i.e: Kids in the UK are connected to kids in the US because they watch T&F.
