Episode Review: Season 7, Episode 11 - Bad Day at Castle Loch

  Air Date: February 23rd, 2004(US)
Written By: Jenny McDade
Narrated By: Michael Brandon
Produced By: Phil Fehrle
Directed By: David Mitton

Summary
One day Sir Topham Hatt called Donald and Douglas to the docks, they were told that Castle loch was reopening, and to take a load of banners, bunting, and bagpipes to the castle. Once Harvey was finished loading the flatbeds Percy came and asked Duglas where they were going. Doguas joked that Percy would be scared of the monster there, but Donald thought it was reel, and argued with him about it on the way there.

When they were all most there some trees were blocking the line and they stopped just in time. Then a landslide turned over the brakevan. Douglas' driver called for help, and Sir Topham Hatt said he would send help as soon as he could. Hours passed and it was now night time, then Harvey and the brakedown train came, and by morning the lines were clear.

Then Donald and Douglas hurried to the castle. Then the workers soon had the castle decorated and the opening day was a success.

                                                                      My Thoughts
Well this was another episode I haven't seen, and it was great. The night time part was good with the fog, but why did it take so long for Harvey to show up, and how would he have cleared the landslide with a brakedown train?

Episode Review: Season 7, Episode 10 - Toby & the Windmill

Air Date: February 20th, 2004(US)
Written By: David Mitton and Jan Page
Narrator: Michael Brandon
Produced By: Phil Pehrle
Directed By: David Mitton

Summary
One day Toby was collecting a load of flower to take to the market, but Toby was so busy looking at the windmills sails that he forgot to look where he was going and he crashed the trucks in a platform and ruined all the flower. The miller was cross with Toby, and said if he couldn't sell the flower he would have to shut the windmill down.

That night there was a big storm, and Toby couldn't get to sleep because he was worried about the miller. Meanwhile Toby was worried about the windmill the windmill was struck by lighting and the wind turbines crashed to the ground.

The next morning Toby discovered that the windmill was destoried by the storm. The miller said that meant the end of his busness because he couldn't afford wood to make a new windmill. After down the line Toby saw that Sir Topham Hatt was cross because a tree had fallen on the line. Toby seggested that the miller could use it to build a new windmill.

Sir Topham Hatt said that was a great idea, so Toby took the tree to the miller and a new windmill was soon built. Now Toby is twice a busy taking flower to the market, and is proud that the miller named the windmill "Toby's Windmill".

Review
Well, somehow I never saw this episode, and it was good. It was odd that Toby crashed the flower, what was his driver doing, looking the other way?

Episode Review: Season 7, Episode 9 - The Spotless Record

 Air Date: February 19th, 2004(US)
Written By: Paul Larson
Directed By: David Mitton
Produced By: Phil Fehrle
Narrated By: Michael Brandon

Summary
A brand new tank engine had arrived on Sodor and rushed to the station to see Sir Topham Hatt. Sir Topham Hatt introduced Author to Thomas and Percy. Soon the three engine's were at work in the yard.

Author's first job was to push a train load of fruit to market, then the trucks started singing to Author, who thought it was rude. This gave Thomas a naughty idea, he told Author he must stop the trucks, but Thomas knew he never would.

After Author told the trucks they couldn't sing they were cross with Author, so the pulled him down the hill and he crashed in to the back of Ducks train. There was squashed fruit everywhere. Author was upset because his spotless record was ruined.

Thomas told Sir Topham Hatt what he had done, and he said it was fruitless for him to say anything else, then Harvey arrived and started to clear the mess. Once everything was cleared up Thomas took the loaded trucks away. That evening Author had a washed down, and Thomas said sorry to Author about the accident.

My Thoughts
This episode was, well, fruitless:) I thought it was a good episode with some funny joke's about fruit, but Percy is still asking dumb questions.

Wooden Railway Skiff and Mike Images Revealed

Today I found two images on the TTTE Wikia, and they are the new Thomas Wooden Railway Skiff and Mike. Skiff is the new tour boat from Sodor's Legend of the Treasure and Mike is an older character from the railway series. I'm not sure if he will be in the movie this fall or not.

One strange thing I noticed was that Mike's front wheels are red and the tender ones are black. Let me know in the comment's section if this is correct.

Episode Review: Season 7, Episode 8 - The Refreshment Lady's Stand

Air Date: February 18th, 2004
Written By: James Mason
Directed By: David Mitton
Produced By: Phil Fehrle
Written By: Michael Brandon

Summary
It was a hot summer day on the Island of Sodor, and the engines were busy taking loads full of slate from the quarry. Peter Sam complained that he was to thirsty to be useful. The next day Sir Topham Hatt told Peter Sam to find the refreshment lady a new place for her stand.

Peter Sam looked all over the narrow railway, but the refreshment lady couldn't decide where she wanted her stand. That night there was a big storm, and in the morning Sir Topham Hatt told Peter Sam to help clear the storm damage.

Then Peter Sam and Rusty found an old railway coach. Sir Topham Hatt had it repaired, and once it was finished Peter Sam showed it to the refreshment lady, and she liked it. Sir Topham Hat told Peter Sam to take the refreshment stand special, so Peter Sam took the refreshment lady to all her favourite place's.

My Thoughts
This was a great episode, but the narrator never said what the refreshment lady's name was. Another problem pointed out by The Thomas & Friends Review Station is that Henry had Gordon's face when he was at the station with Peter Sam.

Thomas & Friends 70th Anniversary Documentary Project

This year Hit Entertainment/Mattel are doing a contest to make a Thomas & Friends 70th Anniversary documentary. Hit Entertainment is providing the $60,000 to produce the film.

Both phases for entering are closed, and on the 9th of this month(September 2014,), the winners of the pitch faze will be announced and then we will know who is going to produce the film. Below is the dececription of each concept for the film, only one of them will be used. Each one won $500 from Hit.

# 1: Imagine: your ticket has been punched, and you're on your way to the magical Isle of Sodor. As you travel, you'll make whistle stops to see treasured artifacts and meet people who have made Thomas and Friends a touchstone of childhood for 70 years.

#2:  Documentaries are usually narrated by adults. Have a child narrate this one as Awrdy gives us insight into the humble bedtime beginnings of the series and makes us realize just how amazing it is that the series has travelled as far as it has.

#3: Documentary sets out to answer the question: "What Makes Thomas & Friends Special?" That question is answered by FANS of all ages & by Christopher Awdry. Discussed special/favorite moments from books & tv series shown w/archival footage, photos, etc.
#4: The 30 minute documentary follows the filmmaker as they travel the world by train to see how people from around the world are in some way connected through Thomas & Friends. i.e: Kids in the UK are connected to kids in the US because they watch T&F.

Today Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure book cover was released on the Ramdomhouse website.

It shows two new character's from the movie, and there names are Skiff the rail boat, and the other one in the back might be Ryan, and he is the purple engine. I think his name is Ryan because that is the only other engine listed on Train Cellar for the 2015 wooden railway item's.

Thomas & Friends: The Adventure Begins Review

The Adventure Begins is a 44 minute special combining several of the original railway series stories. There are also three new character's, and there name's are Judy, Jerome, and Glynn. There will also be a second special released this fall titled"Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure".

Summary
Along time ago on the Island of Sodor there was a little railway called the North Western. Then the narrator gives an introduction to Edward and Gordon. Then Gordon tells Edward that Sir Topham Hat was going to order another engine. James came by, and told Gordon that wooden brakes were just as good as Gordon's.

Gordon was hauling a goods train up his hill, but he got stuck half was up. His driver called Sir Topham Hatt, who then sent Edward to push Gordon to the top.
Latter Edward was back in the year when he hear a voice he'd never heard before. Edward, James and Gordon meet Thomas at Knapford station. Sir Topham Hatt came and meet Thomas, he told him that Edward would show him what to do. Then all the engine's laughed after Sir Topham Hatt left.

As Thomas learns about shunting in the yard "He's a Really Useful Engine" plays. That night at Tidmouth Sheds Thomas meet Henry, and Edward told the story about how he was afraid of rain, and wouldn't come out of the tunnel.

The next day Thomas went to the Steamworks and was re-painted Blue with a number one. After that Thomas went to the yard to show Edward his new coat of paint. Then Edward had to pull a train, so Thomas worked in the yard alone. When James came by latter Thomas thought he smelled a burning smell coming from James when he dropped of his coaches.

Then Thomas asked Henry why he was afraid of rain, Henry said he didn't know why. The next day Thomas was late getting Godrons' coaches, so to get back at Thomas for waking him he he started to quickly and pulled Thomas along his express route.

After that Thomas went away to rest, and had a long drink. The next day Thomas was back working in the yard again. Then Thomas wondered what the cars in the siding were for, it was the brake down train, named Judy and Jermone. Annie and Clarabel explained that they were only for emergency's and not to disturb them.

The next morning Henry's boiler was hurting, so Thomas went to fetch Henry's coaches. Thomas was excited because if Henry was ill he might get to pull his train. Henry never came, so Thomas got to pull the train. Thomas was to excited and pulled away before the coaches were coupled. Soon he stopped at a signal at danger, and the signal man asked him where his coaches were.

Thomas went back to get them, and set of again. That night the other engine's thought it was funny that Thomas left his coaches behind. Edward told Thomas he could take his goods train the next day. The next morning Thomas took the goods train, but on the way down Gordon's hill he bashed in to the buffer's.

Sir Topham Hatt was cross with Edward for giving Thomas the train, and said they would both have to stay in the yard until Thomas knew more about trucks. Latter it was raining and Henry was saying in the shed because it was raining, Thomas helped Henry get over being afraid of the rain, then he pulled his train.

The next day James' brake blocks were on fire and he was out of control. Thomas tried to couple up to the back of James, but it didn't work. James and the train came of the rail's, and Thomas went to get the brake down train. Once James was back on the tracks Thomas took him to the Steam Works.

That night the other engines were happy to see Thomas, and they were impressed with what he did. Sir Topham Hatt came by and told Thomas he would have his own branch line. A few days latter a engine came in the yard, and it was James re-painted red.

The next day Thomas meet Glynn in a siding while pulling his train for the fist time. Then the credits rolled.

My Thoughts
This was a great special for Thomas' 70th Anniversary. I really liked Sir Topham Hatt's face expression's, and he seems like a different character. It was strange that Percy wasn't introduced in this special, but I guess that would have made it to long.

I was expecting that Glynn would have more of a story, but he just had a short introduction near the end, and old engine covered in weeds in a siding, kind of like Hero. Other than that it was a great story with good music. I thought that the"He's a Really Useful Engine" was a little to slow on that version though.

Episode Review: Season 7, Episode 7 - James & the Queen of Sodor

Directed By: David Mitton
Produced By: Phil Fehrle
Narrated By: Michael Brandon
Written By: Paul Larson
Air Date: February 17th 2004(US)

Summary
One day Percy was at the wash down with Gordon and James. Percy said his whistle was clogged, and tried to clean it out, but instead got mud all over Gordon. James collected the mayor that day and bragged to Gordon about it.

Sir Topham Hatt came to the sheds and said someone needed to take the queen of Sodor to the works, James didn't know it was a old boat. James collected the queen of Sodor, but on the way he hit a pipe, but none of the sludge got on James.

James arrived save and sound at the works, then he returned to the shed's where Gordon was surprised that he stayed clean. Then Percy came back and said his whistle was still clogged, the James got dust sprayed all over him.

Review
Well, this is the first time I've seen this episode, and it's funny. There was one mistake though when Percy sprayed Gordon with mud it should have been dust.

New Thomas & Friends "Minis" Range by Mattel

Thanks to the TTTE Wikia I found out that a new brand by Mattel called "Minis" are available only to Wal-Mart in the US and Canada. According to the Wal-Mart website they cost $1.47 each.

Minis Robotic Edward

There are several different themes of engine's including Classic, Metallics, Winter, Heros, Robo, Spooky, Racers, Dinos, Old School and Neon. The robotic engine's look cool.

These look a little like a combination of the Thomas Wooden Railway Early Years, and the old Checkout Thomas product line's.

Episode Review: Season 7, Episode 6 - What's the Matter with Henry

Written By: George Tarry
Directed By: David Mitton
Produced By: Phil Fehrle
Narrated By: Michael Brandon
Air Date: February 16th, 2004(US)

Summary
It was the end of a busy day, and Henry was feeling ill. That night Thomas said hi to Henry, and Henry told Thomas he had boiler pain. As Henry was leaving Emily noticed a puddle of water Henry left behind.

The next morning Sir Topham Hatt went to Tidmouth Sheds and told Thomas and Percy to take coal trucks to the docks. Henry left for the coal plant, but on the way Emily noticed that Henry was still leaking water, this made her worried.

Thomas and Percy had a plan to leave more tucks for Henry because they just thought he was being lazy. Once Henry collected the trucks he stopped half way to the docks.

Emily was following Henry, so she took him to the docks where Sir Topham Hatt told Thomas and Percy to collect Henry's trucks. Thomas and Percy explained that they didn't

My Thoughts
Well, another boring season 7 episode with Emily. It seems like Henry always has problem's in the series even after his coal tenter fix.

Video: Spoiler Alert! Me Reading "The Adventure Begins" Paper Back Book

I got this book at my local book store for $5.00 and it shows two new character's named Judy and Jerome. Judy and Jerome are the brake down train with faces on each side. It's odd that Glynn isn't in the story book version, but I hope we see him in the movie.

The Adventure Begins comes out March 3rd, 2015 in the US and Canada only sold in Wal-Mart on DVD. It will also be on iTunes.

Episode Review: Season 7, Episode 5 - Edward's Brass Band

Written By: Robyn Charteris
Directed By: David Mitton
Produced By: Phil Fehrie
Narrated By: Michael Brandon
Air Date: February 13th, 2004(US)

Summary
One morning Edward was in a hurry to pick up the brass band. When Edward got to the docks a crane was moving a engine boiler, and it knocked over Edward. Sir Topham Hatt came and said Bertie would have to take the brass band.

The fitters worked through the night on Edward, and it was poring rain outside. The next morning Bertie collected the brass band and took them to the concert, but on the way the road was flooded, so Bertie took a short cut and got stuck in the mud.

The band got out and played an emergency call, and soon Edward came to take them to the concert. That night the concert was a great success and everyone liked the music, especially Edward.

My Thoughts
It was strange that Bertie had to take the band instead of another engine if the roads were going to be muddy the next day from the storm. I enjoyed this episode, and its the first one I've liked in season 7.

Episode Review: Season 7, Episode 4 - The Old Iron Bridge

Written By: Paul Larson
Directed By: David Mitton
Produced By: Phil Fehrie
Narrated By: Michael Brandon
Air Date: February 12th, 2004(US)

Summary
One day Skarloey got stuck on an old iron bridge, but Rheneas soon pulled him to safety. A few day's latter Sir Topham Hatt went to see Skarloey and told him to collect the workman's trucks on the bridge after it had been repaired. Once Skarloey got to the bridge he was to scared to cross and get the trucks, so he went home instead. Now Rheneas had to take Skarloey's load's as well as his own.

Soon Sir Topham Hatt came to see Skarloey and told him if he wouldn't cross the bridge he would have to stay and shunt cars. The next morning Rhenesas was taking both the trains and ran out of water on the bridge. The yard manager told Skarloey the news, and he hurried to the bridge, scared but determined.  Skarloey bravely rescued Rheneas, and now he was no longer scared of the bridge and enjoyed his journeys more than ever.

My Thoughts
Well, this episode was kind of boring. Season 7 seems to be some of the worst Thomas episode's I've seen so far. The narrator didn't mention if it was the narrow gage railway, at least not that I heard. How can an engine "be afraid", and have his driver control where the engine wants to go, but the driver doesn't go where the engine is supposed to go?

Episode Review: Season 7, Episode 3 - Bill, Ben and Fergus

Written By: Brian Trueman
Directed By: David Mitton
Produced By: Phil Fehrie
Narrated By: Michael Brandon
Air Date: February 11th, 2004(US)

Summary
Fergus is a small traction engine that work's on Sodor, and one day he was on his way to work at the quarry. On the way Thomas warned Fergus about Bill and Ben's trick's. Bill bashed his truck's hard and some rocks fell on the track, Fergus told him to do it right, but Bill didn't like being told what to do.

Then Ben pushed his trucks to block the line, and now Fergus was stuck. The next day the men were blasting rock, and Fergus told them to wait for the clear signal and to do it right, now Bill and Ben were cross with Fergus. The quarry manager sent Bill and Ben to the docks to collect a rock crusher. At the docks Bill and Ben told each other that the next time Fergus told them to do something right that they would do it wrong.

When they got back to the quarry Fergus warned them that the blasting had made the track by the cliff unsafe, but Bill and Ben went toward it with the rock crusher. Fergus bumped them out of the way just in time, but now he was covered in the rocks. It took a long time to dig Fergus out, and no one worked harder to help than Bill and Ben. Once Fergus was uncovered Bill and Ben said they were sorry, and Fergus said they could all do it right from now on.

My Thoughts
Well after seeing Timothy he reminds be a lot of Fergus because he is basically the same character converted to an engine. Why don't Bill and Ben's driver's control the engine's? And Bill and Ben should have gotten in trouble from a quarry manager or Sir Topham Hatt.

Episode Review: Season 7, Episode 2 - Percy Gets it Right

Written By: Paul Larson
Produced By: Phil Fehrie
Directed By: David Mitton
Narrated By: Michael Brandon(US)
Air Date: February 10th, 2004(US)

Summary
It was market day on Sodor, but one day mist and rain swirled down Toby's line making it unsafe. Percy was delivering a load of tomato's and his driver noticed the unsafe track, so they went to tell Sir Topham Hatt, but he wouldn't listen. While Percy was trying to tell Sir Topham Hatt Thomas was just leaving for Toby's line to collect a prize bull.

Thomas went down the unsafe line and hit a landslide. That night Thomas was still gone, so Percy went to look for him on Toby's line, once he found him in the landslide Percy pulled him out and they were at the station by sunrise. Once there Sir Topham Hatt said they should listen to Percy more often.

Review
This episode had some good action in it, but why didn't Percy tell Sir Topham Hatt that the tracks were washed out from the rainstorm instead of just saying they were "wobbly"? So far I'm not really liking much of season 7 while re-watching it again.

Episode Review: Season 7, Episode 1 - Emily's New Coaches

Written By: Jan Page
Produced By: Phil Fehrie
Directed By: David Mittion
Narrator: Michael Angelis
Air Date: Febuary 9th, 2004(US)

Summary
Thomas was taking Annie and Clarabel back to the yard, and a new engine had arrived at the station, and Thomas wanted to say hello. At Knapford station Thomas met the new engine and her name was Emily. Then Emily went to the yard to get some coaches, but Sir Topham Hatt never told her which ones, so they took Annie and Clarabel by mistake.

When Emily went down the line and passed the other engine's, none of them whistled back, and Emily wondered why. Latter Thomas had to collect new coaches, but he didn't know they were for Emily and not replacing Annie and Clarabel. Emily returned to the yard with Annie and Clarabel, and once there Oliver told her that she had taken Thomas' coaches, then she went to apologise.

On the was to look for Thomas a signal man said Oliver hadn't cleared the line, so Emily went to the crossing and saw that Oliver had broken down. Then Thomas was coming down the other line, so Emily pushed Oliver out of the way just in time.

After that Sir Topham Hatt praised Emily and gave her two new coaches, then she told Thomas sorry for taking Annie and Clarabel, and they both agreed they were friends.

My Thoughts
I don't really like this episode or Emily. She sort of replaced Donald, Douglas and Duck in the newer series. It was strange that Sir Topham Hatt would tell Emily to "go get some coaches", and not tell her which one's, while she has her own coaches being delivered.

DVD Collection Update: January 2015

Disney Planes: 3D Blu-Ray Combo Pack
Well I got this one at Toys R Us for $32 because my Disney Planes regular DVD got scratched. It is disappointing that you go spend $24 on a Disney DVD and a few months latter you can't play it.

Thomas & Friends DVDs: Percy Takes the Plunge
This one was $13 and it has seven old style episodes on it that are now in digital. I didn't notice who the narrator was yet though.

Two Bob the Builder DVDs
These two were found at Wall-Mart for only $2.47 each, and that's one of the best DVD prices I've seen. The disc titles are Hold on to Your Hard Hats!: Project Built it Series and New to the Crew. I like the old animation style on these and am collecting them because the new style of Bob is coming in latter this year and the old ones might go out of stock. Bob the Builder DVDs are only forty to forty-five minutes long.

Episode Review: Season 18 - Samson Sent For Scrap

Written By: Mark Huckerby & Nick Ostler
As Seen on DVD: Dinos & Discoverys

Summary
Scruff was taking some scrap to the scrap yard, but it was to heavy and he broke down. Samson shunted Scruff to the Steam Works where Sir Topham Hatt told Samson that he was going to collect scrap with Harvey until Scruff was fixed. Samson and Harvey collected two piles of scrap, but then Samson saw a bike lying by a fence post, and he thought it was scrap so Harvey collected it.

Next Samson saw one of Bertie's bus stop signs and thought it was scrap to, so they put it in the truck. Up the road Sir Topham Hatt's car had gotten a flat tire, but then they discovered that there wasn't an extra one in the trunk, so they went to get one. While they were gone Samson took the car because he thought it was scrap to.

Then Sir Topham Hatt came back with the tire and Bertie pulled up with the bike owner and they raced to the scrap yard. Scruff got there first and told Reg to stop unloading. Sir Topham Hatt told Samson he had caused confusion, and that his car wasn't scrap, then a part fell of the car and they all laughed.

Review
Well, this episode reminded me a little bit of a Sharron Miller episode, and  there was some rhyming in it. It's nice to have Harvey back in the series again, but why did he listen to Samson when he knew he was wrong?

Episode Review: Season 18 - Emily Saves the World

Written By: Paul Larson & Laura Beaumont
As Seen on DVD: Dinos & Discoverys

Summary
Duncan and Rheneas were discussing there most exciting delivery's, then Emily came by with a load of sand for the docks and over heard them. Now Emily felt bad that she hadn't delivered anything special. Once she got to the docks she asked Thomas if he had pulled anything special, he said a he pulled a rocket engine that pushed him all over Sodor at supersonic speed.

The next day Sir Topham Hatt had a special for Emily, it was a giant globe for the animal park. Instead of taking the globe to the animal park, Emily decided to find some engines to show it to first. Then the globe ropes cut on the bridge tunnel, and it flue off on to Hiros car. but Emily didn't even notice.

Then Emily tried to show Thomas the globe, then Emily realized she had lost it, and went to find it. The globe was now rolling down Thomas' branch line, so Thomas went on a siding and let it past. Emily chased the globe all the way to the docks were it fell in to the sea. Captain happened to be there so he pushed it back and Cranky lifted it back on Emily's flatbed.

Then Emily went to the animal park, Sir Topham Hatt said she was late and had caused confusion, but got there in the end. Then the globe was put in place in the animal park, right in the center. Thomas said that was Emily's most exciting delivery,  Emily laughed and said it was a little to exciting.

Review
Well, it's nice to see Captain have a little roll in an episode again, as we haven't seen him science Misty Island Rescue. Bill and Ben's joke about the stinky laundry was funny, but there was one mistake. When the globe hit the signal mans glass window rolling of Hiro's truck it should have broken the glass. Over all this episode was great.

Episode Review: Season 18 - Samson at Your Service

Written By: Davey Moore
As Seen on DVD: Dinos & Discoverys

Summary
When Samson first arrived on Sodor it was dark. Samson was bringing the new dinosaur models for the Erals dinosaur park. Samson didn't know the way, and was to proud to ask anyone. So he got lost and wound up at the Blue Mountain Quarry and didn't arrive at Ulfstead Castle until morning.

That day Sir Topham Hatt had a job for Samson. He had to take some stone from Blue Mountain Quarry to the mainland. But first Samson had to get some coal. Then Samson accidentally took Gordon's express coaches, while Stanley tried to tell him he made a mistake again, but he wouldn't listen.

Now Gordon was late for the express, so Sir Topham Hatt told him to take Annie and Clarabel and for Thomas to use Henrietta. Once Samson got to the Blue Mountain Quarry he realized that he took coaches instead of cars, so he raced back to the yard. On the way Sir Topham Hatt told Samson he had caused confusion.

By the time Samson got back to the quarry it was dark, so Samson's trucks were filled, but he had to spend the night at the quarry again because it was to late to go back now.

Review
The engine's face expression's on this episode were very funny, and it was nice to see Stanly again. Sir Topham Hatt has been driving Winston for three year's now, so why doesn't he know how to use the brake yet?

Episode Review: Season 18 - Timothy & the Rainbow Truck

Written By: Davey Moore
As Seen on DVD: Dinos & Discoverys

Summary
Bill and Ben liked playing jokes on the engines. They played a joke on Salty and Marion, and then they told Timothy that they had lost a multi-colored truck. Timothy didn't realize it was a joke, so he went all  over Sodor looking for it.

Then Timothy arrived at the docks and found a garbage truck that was painted all the colors of the rainbow. Timothy took it back to the clay pits where Bill and Ben explained that it wasn't the truck and what they had said was a prank. Then Sir Topham Hatt came and told them they had caused confusion and delay, and that they would have to do wast collection duty for a while.

Review
Why did Timothy believe Bill and Ben's joke if he knows they play tricks on him all the time? Not much else to say, but I did enjoy the shot with the rainbow at the beginning.

Episode Review: Season 18, Episode 21 - Marion & the Dinosaurs

Well, this is a surprise for me, I was sure season 18 was over and that Dinos and Discoveries was going to be season 19, but I was wrong. There are six more episodes of season 18. At this point it is unclear what episode number this is because they haven't aired on TV yet.

Written By: Andrew Brenner
Seen on DVD: Dinos & Discoverys

Summary
Marion was digging at a construction site, and she slept there that night. In the middle of the night she woke up and saw dinosaurs, she told her self that it was a dream and went back to sleep. In the morning she saw them again. Then Marion was so scared she raced backwards all the way up to Ulfstead Castle.

She nearly rammed in to Stephen and Millie who were waiting for a special shipment. Then all three of them saw the dinosaurs and raced inside the castle and had the drew bridge closed. Then they opened it and realized that they were fake dinosaurs and Marion wasn't scared anymore. Samson explained that he was new to Sodor and was a day late because he got lost at the Quarry and had to wait till morning for proper directions.

The Eral explained that he was building a dinosaur park so people can see what the real dinosaurs looked like.

Review
This episode was great. Thomas was in it, but it's nice that Andrew Brenner is writing stories for the new character's and not just Thomas. Marion is still an annoying character with her talking, but I like Samson's character. They didn't really explain why Samson was on Sodor very well, they just said he was new.

Episode Review: Season 18 - Millie & the Volcano

Written By: Andrew Brenner
As Seen on DVD: Dinos & Discoverys

Summary
Samson and Harvey were unloading the dinosaurs for the dinosaur park. Harvey was asking Samson the names of the dinosaurs, but he was getting the names wrong. Then Harvey was lifting a head to another dinosaur, but Millie got scared as Harvey tilted it the wrong way. Samson said Millie was a silly little engine for being scared.

Then Harvey unloaded the model volcano and Samson explained to Harvey that volcano's erupted, and Harvey said that was dangerous and dropped the volcano. He didn't know it was just a module. Latter Millie had an idea to scare Harvey and Samson. She had the groundskeeper light the bond fire right behind the model volcano, so it looked like it was erupting.

After that the Eral said is wasn't good that Millie played a trick on Samson and Harvey. Latter the dinosaur park was open, and Millie gave Sir Topham Hatt and Dowager Hatt a tour. They all got scared when they went by the head that moved, but Sir Topham Hatt said it was fun to pretend. And the all laughed and roared.

Review
Wow, Harvey is talking again! And it's strange that the dinosaurs were taken apart on the flatbed, when they were together in the last episode. How did they get them apart without them all falling off?

The Adventure Begins UK Trailer Released

Today the You Tube user TTTE Archives uploaded the trailer for the upcoming DVD titled "The Adventure Begins". It is a forty-four minute special explaining how Thomas got to Sodor and it also shows James' accident with his wooden brake. This is a special DVD for Thomas' 70th anniversary and another feature length movie will follow in the same year.

I'm sure the movie will explain a lot more stories from the railway series, but they can't show everything in a one minute trailer. I can't wait for this to come out, but one let down is that the DVD release is a Wall-Mart exclusive.

Episode Review: Season 18, Episode 20 - The Perfect Gift

Air Date: December 17th, 2014(US)
Written By: Davey Moore

Summary
Percy was delivering Christmas tree's, extra mail, and then he went to the scrap yard to drop off a load. He saw Reg there, and he asked him if he thought it was gloomy there, and Reg said not really. Then Percy saw Thomas at the sheds, he asked Thomas if he could take an extra tree, and he said yes, so the next day Percy took the tree to Reg, but when he got there Reg had accidentally crunched it up.

Reg said they get lots of old tree at the scrap yard, but Percy was still determined to get Reg some Christmas decorations. After that Percy went to Knapford Station to take some passengers to the town square for a Christmas sing-along. Percy took the passengers to the scrap yard instead, they tried to sing with Percy, but Reg was to noisy. Reg said he was to busy to listen to the music anyway.

After that Percy tried to find a present for Reg, but he couldn't. The next day when Percy went to the scrap yard he told Reg that he couldn't even find him a gift, but then Reg showed Percy his scrap Christmas tree, and he was happy. Then Reg gave Percy a scrap Christmas tree star, and it was put on Tidmouth Sheds. And everyone said Merry Christmas.

Review
It was strange that Percy never did take the passengers to the town square, but rather pulled them all over the Island and they never complained.

Episode Review: Season 18, Episode 19 - Duncan the Humbug

Air Date: December 17th, 2014
Written By: Davey Moore

Summary
It was Christmas on the Island of Sodor and all the engines were happy except Duncan. He was always in a bad mood about the cold weather. At the first station he told Rheneas about the cold weather, then he told Rusty that there wasn't enough sand, and he told Skarloey that his extra passengers made him late. When Rusty, Rheneas, and Skarloey arrived at the Depot they talked about how Duncan was complaining to them. Then Thomas came and said the Christmas decorations at the Depot should cheer Duncan up, but when he got there they didn't.

Then Thomas told Duncan that he was going to get a new coat of paint for Christmas, and Rusty said that Mr. Percival had the same idea, so now Duncan was still grumbling, but looked forward to a new coat of paint. But when Duncan got to the Steam Works Mr. Percival was there talking to Victor, then he told Duncan that he could have a new coat of paint tomorrow if he was cheerful for the rest of the day.

Then Duncan had to wait at the station for passengers when Skarloey came and asking how he was, he said every thing was fine. Then he went to a level crossing, but the gates were stuck, so he had to wait and the passengers hummed a tune, Duncan was about to blow his whistle, but Rusty came and he smiled.

Latter that day Duncan was on a hill and Luke was hauling a Christmas tree. Then Duncan forgot to be cheerful and realized he put Luke in a bad mood, so he pushed him up the hill. Now he was disappointed that he wouldn't get his new coat of paint. But the next day he went to the Steam Works anyway to apologize to Mr. Percival about what he had done. Mr. Percival said he would get a new coat of paint for helping Luke up the hill and that he was wrong to ask Duncan not to be grumpy because that was how he was.

Episode Review: Season 18, Episode 18 - The Last Train for Christmas

Air Date: December 18th, 2014(US)
Written By: Andrew Brenner

Summary
It was Christmas Eve, and people were still hurrying home with there family's on the Island of Sodor. Thomas, Oliver and Duck were clearing the lines, then they stop and Thomas tells them that tomorrow they could go to there sheds because there where no trains on Christmas.

Conner was on the mainland collecting passengers for Sodor, but the train was full before a boy and his parents could get on, but Conner said he would be back because there was one more train before Christmas. By the time Conner got to Knapford Station he was late, so Sir Topham Hatt told him to hurry because there was  more snow on the way.

As he was leaving the station the Slip Coaches said to take them, and Thomas told Conner that you could uncouple with out stopping. Latter after all the engines were clearing the line, then they went back to Knapford Station and Sir Topham Hatt announced the mainline closed, but when Thomas and Percy asked about Conner coming from the mainland he decided to re-open it.

The engines soon finished plowing, but Emily was having trouble near Vicarstown Bridge. Then Hiro came from the other direction and finished clearing the line just in time for Conner. Then Conner started to release the slip coaches at the different stations on Sodor, but Thomas saw one that didn't make it to the station and kept going to he shunted it back to the station.

Once at Knapford Sir Topham Hatt thanked his engines and said Merry Christmas, then they went home. Thomas thought he saw Harold, so he said Merry Christmas to him, but Thomas never knew it was really Santa Clause.

Review
I enjoyed this episode and the joke about Harold being Santa Clause was funny. There isn't much else to say, but I did like the fact that they said Merry Christmas instead of Happy Holidays.

Episode Review: Season 18, Episode 17 - Long Lost Friend

Air Date: December 18th, 2014(US)
Written By: Mark Huckerby and Nick Ostler

Summary
It was Christmas on Sodor and Cranky was unloading cargo at the dock's as always, but then there was a heavy load, it was Gator and Salty told him that Percy would like to see him. There was also a load of  salt that came on the boat, but the clip board got wet so the dock manager didn't know where it was supposed to go. He told Gator to take it to the Quarry, and Gator said he might see Percy on the way.

On the first signal Gator saw Thomas. Then Thomas rushed to the yard to tell Percy the news, Percy was excited and said it would be the best Christmas ever. When Gator got to the Quarry the person there told him to take the salt to the Steam Works. Then Percy heard that Gator was at the Steam Works from Owen, so he raced off there.

But right as Percy got there gator left for Knapford Station, once there Sir Topham Hatt told Gator that the salt was for the docks, so it turned out he didn't have to take it anywhere in the first place. Then Thomas told Percy that Gator was looking for him because Percy thought Gator didn't want to see him, and it turned out Gator thought the opposite thing.

Percy raced to the docks and rammed in to the salt thinking that Gator was catching a boat at the docks again, but it turned out he was staying, long enough to clean the salt off him anyway. Salty said they didn't need two Salty's on Sodor and they all laughed.

Review
This was a funny episode and had some good joke's in it. I didn't really like the anamition on Percy's smile, there was just something not right when they transferred the engine's over from Nitrogen's computer to ARC's, if they did that. Other than that the episode was great.

Welcome to the New Year, A little Late.....

Well it is now 2015 and I have not blogged for about a month for private reasons that won't be discussed publicly on the Internet. I will be reviewing the rest of season 18 and the reviews will be there own posts.

I  want to get some of the 2015 70th anniversary Thomas Wooden Railway item's and if I do there will be reviews of them on my You Tube channel raretwrhunter which at this point has 56 subscribers, and that's good for one year hardly making any video content.

I'm excited for this year because it's Thomas & Friends 70th anniversary and Hit Entertainment/Mattel are going to release some great merchandise relating to the railway series and there will be a new movie as always.

The first DVD of the year is Dinos & Discoveries and it's all ready available for pre-order on Amazon, and will be released on March 3rd. This disc will have season 18 episodes on it including Emily Saves the World.
